Project: Brand Identity
Duration: 2011
Description: Great Spaces, a national wood fabrication company specializing in office cabinetry for small and large businesses, including the national hair salon chain 'Supercuts' throughout the US, sought to establish a brand that conveyed simplicity, cleanliness, and an emphasis on greatness.
To achieve this vision, I designed a logo that prominently featured the word 'Great' in a warm and friendly script font. This choice symbolized attention to detail and reflected the company's mission to deliver truly exceptional products to its customers. The word 'Great' was positioned at an angle as if it were written on a personalized note card.
In contrast, the word 'Spaces' was presented in a modern font that represented Great Spaces' expertise in creating contemporary cabinetry designs while staying current with construction trends. This juxtaposition of fonts created visual interest and communicated both tradition and innovation.
To enhance this timeless mark further, I incorporated a warm teal color into the logo design. Teal invokes clarity in communication - an essential aspect for Great Spaces as they strive to accurately create interiors that fulfill their customers' desires.
Overall, this logo successfully captures Great Spaces' commitment to excellence while conveying their ability to blend classic craftsmanship with modern design sensibilities.

Project: Brand Identity for Shop Talk Discussion Forum Marketing Campaign
Duration: 2014
Description:The 'Talk Shop' brand was created to foster relationships between Great Spaces wood fabrication shop and its key customer, 'Supercuts.' The campaign aimed to encourage communication by sending complimentary curated coffee grounds as a promotional item. This gesture served as an invitation for customers to 'talk shop' about future salon designs, provide feedback, and discuss areas for improvement.
In the logo design, I incorporated clever elements that conveyed the theme of communication. Firstly, I replaced the letter 'a' in 'talk' with a talk bubble symbol resembling an online chat icon. This visual representation effectively communicated the idea of communication happening through digital channels.
For the word 'shop,' I replaced the letter 'o' with a circle and cross in the middle - resembling a screwdriver head. This cleverly referenced the tools used in cabinetry creation while also reinforcing Great Spaces' expertise in their craft.
Overall, this brand identity cleverly communicates the mission of fostering open dialogue between Great Spaces and their customers. It captures both their commitment to excellent craftsmanship and their dedication to actively engaging with clients.

Project: Shop Talk Marketing Campaign
Duration: 2014
Description: We further extended the 'Shop Talk' brand by incorporating it into various print and digital products, including the curated coffee grounds promotional item, hats, brochures, website creation and more.
To visually reinforce the strong connection between Great Spaces and their client 'Supercuts,' I employed cleverly photoshopped images that merged construction tools with salon tools. For example, I created hybrid designs such as using a screwdriver as a wand for a salon comb or combining a hairdryer with a power drill. These imaginative visuals effectively communicated the seamless integration of Great Spaces' expertise in cabinetry with Supercuts' salon services.
The intention behind these hybrid designs was to convey not only the strong connection between both industries but also to emphasize effective communication. By merging these elements in unexpected ways, we brought an air of clever whimsy to the design, inviting casual and warm engagement.
These creative visuals were incorporated into various materials such as brochures and website graphics. They served as eye-catching elements that captured attention while conveying Great Spaces' commitment to fostering meaningful connections with their clients.
Overall, this design approach successfully conveyed both professionalism and approachability while inviting customers to engage in open conversations.

Project: Great Spaces Website
Duration: 2011-2014
Description: I collaborated with the talented team at Great Spaces USA over several years and during this time, I designed and maintained their corporate website. This website served as a platform to showcase their extensive range of custom cabinetry interiors.
As part of my role, I specialized in site organization, ensuring that visitors could easily navigate through the various offerings and find exactly what they were looking for. Through careful consideration of user experience, I created an intuitive layout that made browsing effortless.
To bring an extra touch of creativity and visual appeal, I incorporated graphic design elements throughout the website. These creative touches added a modern dynamic flair that set Great Spaces USA apart from competitors in their industry. The use of interactive elements further enhanced engagement and provided visitors with an immersive experience.
Project: Promotional Video
Duration: 2014
Description: In collaboration with Great Spaces USA, I had the opportunity to create an appreciation video honoring their longstanding partnership with Supercuts. This project aimed to leave a lasting impression and express deep gratitude for the three decades of shared success and growth.
With meticulous attention to detail, I curated a collection of salon makeovers spanning over the past three decades. These visuals were seamlessly blended with captivating footage of the talented Great Spaces Cabinetry team at work in their shop. The transitions were thoughtfully designed to evoke emotions and showcase the evolution of both businesses.
To enhance the emotional impact, I carefully selected music that perfectly complemented each moment captured on screen. The result was a sentimental and memorable video keepsake that left attendees at the event in awe – resulting in a standing ovation.
